Compliance Officer (with FCA handbook knowledge) - Permanent - Edinburgh - Up to £75K

Evolve IT Recruitment is working with a leading fintech organisation based in Edinburgh that is known for delivering a top-class client experience and is looking to grow its Compliance Monitoring team to support its business's continued success worldwide. In this role you will be responsible for providing risk management and compliance monitoring expertise with clear oversight of 2LOD and 1LOD activities, ensuring reviews are completed in line with the Compliance Monitoring Plans and agreed improvement actions to be implemented. You will assist in annual reviews of the compliance risk assessments toolkit, undertaking detailed reviews of activities across regulated companies and producing high quality monitoring reports that outline deficiencies and solutions to be implemented. Other areas of responsibility include compliance administration (such as policies and procedures), compliance advice (providing input to the monitoring plan and support RFP's and due diligence), and governance (both at Board and Committee level).

Responsibilities

- UK financial services knowledge and understanding of the regulatory framework

- Experience working in a compliance department of an FCA regulated firm

- Knowledge of FCA's Handbook

- Experience carrying out compliance monitoring reviews and audits with a flair for producing clear documentation that delivers a path for results

- Exceptional communication skills and experience dealing with a range of experience levels within a regulated environment

- Good interpersonal skills and rapport building expertise; able to diplomatically challenge management and employees when required
