Our esteemed client, a high-achieving Catholic secondary school in Croydon, South London, is seeking an exceptional Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to join their dynamic team this September. This is a unique opportunity for either an experienced Head of Department or an ambitious MFL teacher eager to step into a leadership role.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire a thriving MFL department, fostering a passion for languages in students and staff alike.
- Oversee curriculum development, ensuring it is innovative, engaging, and aligned with the school's Catholic ethos.
- Manage and mentor a team of dedicated MFL teachers, promoting their professional growth and development.
- Monitor student progress and implement effective strategies to ensure high academic standards.
- Cultivate strong relationships with parents, providing regular feedback and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Proven track record of excellence in teaching MFL at the secondary level
- Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Deep understanding of the Catholic faith and its educational principles (desired)
