What You'll Do:
- Technical accounting expert within the Group
- Serve as the subject matter expert within the Group for all accounting judgements and complexities, with a particular focus on:
- Revenue accounting applying IFRS 15 to complex customer contracts
- Accounting for capital projects applying IAS 16/38
- Accounting for the Group's M&A activity, including acquisition accounting and accounting for divestments.
- Accounting advisory with commercial, operational and other teams in advance of contracts being agreed to advise on accounting implications of proposed agreements.
- Preparing accounting analysis to serve as the Group's accounting papers to justify and support the Group's accounting conclusions.
- Serve as the subject matter expert within the Group for all accounting judgements and complexities, with a particular focus on:
- Ownership of accounting policies of the Eutelsat Group
- Maintain and update the Group Consolidation Manual
- Lead on the evaluation and assessment of the Group's accounting policies in response to changes in accounting standards and other developments.
- Managing and working effectively with external advisors and auditors
- Proactively and effectively managing external auditors (including where relevant across the Group's global jurisdictions).
- Where relevant, managing and working productively with the Group's external advisors.
- Contribute to the production of the Group's external reporting, including annual and interim financial statements
- Provide technical guidance on reporting requirements, including in relation to information required for disclosure in the financial statements.
What it Takes:
- 8+ years of experience in accounting in an international environment
- Master degree in finance / accounting / economics
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication and presentation skills working with multiple peer groups and levels of management
