Postdoctoral Fellow - Machine Learning: The Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion (MPI CEC), located in Mülheim an der Ruhr, is on the lookout for a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to the innovative work in the Department for Electrosynthesis, focusing on the development of greener production processes and advanced screening and optimization strategies. Postdoctoral Fellow - Automation and Machine Learning

Designation: Postdoctoral Fellow (F/M/D) - Automation and Machine Learning

Research Area: The position entails the design and construction of a continuous flow setup for electrochemical reactions, the development of a user interface for self-learning optimization campaigns, serving as an interface to other sub-projects within the cluster, and facilitating information and communication within the project.

• Completed scientific higher education, doctorate in natural sciences or engineering with a focus on chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, or process engineering
• Preferably relevant work experience in the fields of chemistry, physics, or engineering
• Experience in instrumental analytics, analysis and interpretation of big data sets, as well as simulation and programming
• Strong teamwork, communication, and presentation skills
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written); basic knowledge of German is advantageous

Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Designing and constructing a continuous flow setup for electrochemical reactions
• Developing a user interface for self-learning optimization campaigns
• Acting as an interface to other sub-projects within the cluster and preparing their results for the own sub-project
• Facilitating information and communication within the project
