Job Description

Partnered with a well-established business based in Downham Market, we are searching for an experienced Procurement Manager on a full-time permanent basis.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Form an understanding of our existing suppliers and the history, products, and services they are used for.
  2. Centralise the buying function in the business, commercialising with forecasting the function from project managers and the buying function.
  3. Source new suppliers, travelling when applicable to qualify and test their capabilities.
  4. Set up and manage tender processes for key goods and services supply agreements and deliver on agreed savings.
  5. Communicate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to land more profitable deals by building long-term strategic relationships - this involves meeting with suppliers on an ongoing basis.
  6. Support the business on the 95% OTIF brand promise objective in 2025 from a Supply Chain perspective.
  7. Analyse, evaluate and report Supply Chain & Procurement related data to identify opportunities for improvements.
  8. Maintain supply chain inventory and records.
  9. Find cost-effective solutions for supply chain processes.
  10. Resolve day-to-day issues that arise within the Supply Chain, such as delivery delays, trading terms, and quality control.
  11. Collaborate with the senior leadership team and other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth and updates on industry trends and forecasts.
  12. Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards, both from an internal process and supplier perspective.
  13. Monitor Purchase Order receipts to ensure stock is received correctly into the business.
  14. Conduct monthly analysis of stock levels to identify and remedy anomalies.
  15. Lead and mentor the procurement team to drive efficient use of resources.
  16. Identify opportunities for sales/estimating to utilise alternative products/services that offer a commercial advantage to the business.
