Responsibilities

Description of Role

This role as a Commissioning Engineer is to support installation works and configure customer equipment according to requirements as well as best industry standards.

A Commissioning Engineer serves as a technical knowledge expert and role model to others, especially new team members; ensures knowledge and skill sharing across the team to constantly elevate the overall quality of service and promote professional excellence.

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

1. Working with project managers/key account managers to ensure a full understanding of the project requirements.
2. Carry out system programming in line with project requirements.
3. Carry out system testing and documentation for handover.
4. Carry out end user training requirements in line with project requirements.
5. Ensure compliance with company standards.
6. Conduct final commissioning visits on projects.
7. Assist with final handover to Project Manager/End User.
8. Engineer and review physical layouts and system security designs, where required.
9. Manage on-site trades and align security dependencies to project timelines.
10. Communicate effectively with clients, project teams, and local service partners.
11. Train on-site clients on the operation of installed systems.
12. Provide updates to the Operations and Maintenance manuals as required.
13. Maintain compliance with Health and Safety standards.
14. Grow and maintain technical knowledge base through additional learning and training.

Experience:

1. Good knowledge of industry standards & strong configuration understanding of CCTV & Access Control technologies, including IP and analogue systems, VMS software, networks, and connectivity solutions.
2. Previous employment within a BAFE/SSAIB/NSI accredited company.
3. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
4. Flexible and self-motivated.
5. Prior experience of installing, testing, and fault-finding.
6. Knowledge of industry standard manufacturers preferred:

• CCTV Camera (IP & Analogue) - Bosch, Axis, Dahua, Hikvision, Ipro
• CCTV Video Management Systems - Genetec, Milestone
• Access Control - Gallagher, PAC, Win-Pak, Lenel
• Networking - HPE, Cisco, Nokia, Fortinet

Skills:

1. Good communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
2. Technical expertise in both Networking & Security Systems.
3. Good administration skills with sound working knowledge of business systems and mainstream applications e.g., Microsoft Office 365 & CRMs.
4. Excellent team player and relationship builder.
5. Creative problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
6. Project-oriented but can interchange on service-related tasks when required.
7. Sound commercial awareness, knowledge of design and pricing of systems and upgrades.

Certifications/Qualifications:

1. Valid CSCS/ECS Card
2. IPAF/PASMA/Asbestos Awareness certification
3. Recent/current electrical qualifications
4. Full UK driving licence
