Job Description
Your key responsibilities would include:
- Development and implementation of legal strategies related to the role's relevant product set, including the management of related risk
- Pro-active identification and provision of legal advice on applicable laws and regulations. Keeping up to date with changes to relevant regulations and ensuring they are effectively reflected within policies, standards, and controls.
- Creation and review of legal documents to ensure the bank's adherence with applicable laws and regulations
- Development and delivery of training programmes to educate employees on legal and regulatory requirements
- Legal advice and support to the institution's corporate and investment divisions globally on a variety of transactions and projects
- Subject matter support in Legal department's representation of the bank in legal proceedings relating to your relevant product set, such as litigation and regulatory investigations
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate should have:
- 4+ post-qualification experience as a solicitor in the UK
- A strong background dealing with FCA regulations including payments
- Experience working within a financial / banking institution
- The ability to commute into London 2 days per week
