THE C4 APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME
If you are looking for an opportunity to gain work experience and a qualification, then an apprenticeship at Channel 4 might be for you.
Our Apprenticeships are full-time, with four days per week spent working in a C4 department and one day per week completing the formal learning parts of the apprenticeship. You'll spend 60% of your working week in your office base and 40% working from home.
The formal training provided will consist of workshops, tutorials, webinars, coaching and in some cases residential boot camps. You can read more about the qualification being offered for this apprenticeship below.
AM I ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
- You must be 18 years old or over at the time the scheme starts to apply. There is no upper age limit.
- You'll need to have a Grade C (4) or above in Maths & English GCSE
- You can't have already completed the qualification being offered or similar at the same or higher level

The Technology department's core purpose is the design and provision of effective solutions that support Channel 4's strategy and operations. We are responsible for the end-to-end delivery of technology services. Working with business stakeholders, the wider Technology teams comprising C4 and several 3rd parties to design, build and run technology solutions.
As an Apprentice Business Analyst within the London based Technology team, you will work with and be supported by the Lead Business Analysts leading one of our Strategic Initiatives. You will support them with requirements gathering, facilitating workshops and documentation whilst shadowing them as they shape the initiative, a vital step in the solution design process.
Eventually, when you are ready, in addition to your core project, you will also be assigned your own small change initiatives with support from your Buddy Lead Business Analyst and line manager, as well as being assigned tasks on other projects within the portfolio where Business Analyst support is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Supporting the Business Analyst or leading on small change initiatives.
- Facilitating workshops and interviews in order to elicit business and user requirements.
- Assist with the development of business cases.
- Documenting functional and non-functional requirements
- Documenting and analysing current processes and identify opportunities to make improvements.
- Defining user acceptance test scripts
- Presenting information appropriate to the audience; technical and non-technical, to ensure requirements and solutions are understood.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships.
- Ability to follow instructions, to work both independently and as part of a team.
- To have and use initiative.
- Possess a keen attitude, a willingness to learn.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to problem solve and use initiative to resolve issues.

From September 2023, C4 has operated a 60/40 working pattern, equating to three office days per week.
Having everyone in the office three days a week gives us more opportunity to build our high performing, inclusive culture; to collaborate and to learn and share with each other, as well as helping to coordinate a regular pattern of home and office working days. Employees then have the flexibility to decide where they spend the rest of the working week. All our offices are open five days a week.
