Job Description
London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust

Our transformation programme supports better care for patients, better experience of staff, and better use of resources.

This role will lead on the implementation of complex transformational service changes across our organisation. You will lead our clinical productivity programme, including improvements to pathways to achieve best practice GIRFT standards, partnership with other acute organisations to align best practices across NWL, and supporting service redesign, capital investment, and service configuration projects.

As Deputy Director for Transformation, you will deputise for the Director of Strategy and Transformation as required, representing the team in board, executive, and operational meetings.

Main duties of the job
  • Lead on the delivery of a trust-wide portfolio of transformation programmes to build high quality, sustainable services, including new clinical pathways or models of care.
  • Hold responsibility for transformational input into service reconfiguration and transfers in the context of large-scale improvement programmes across the Trust and beyond into the wider health and social care sector.
  • With the Director of Strategy and Transformation and Executive Directors, develop a long-term strategy for improving the delivery of financial and operational sustainability through transformational service change.
  • Lead on the integration of the national Getting it Right First Time (GIRFT) programme into the transformation programme, enabling divisional delivery of best clinical practice.
  • Work with the divisions on large strategic business cases related to transformational service change, ensuring that the costs, benefits, risks, and income and expenditure of such schemes are fully understood and prepared for presentation to the relevant committee for approval. Where developments encompass services provided by more than one division, the post holder will be expected to lead the whole development.
  • Work closely with the Director of Strategy and Transformation and other senior leaders in the Transformation team to create a high-performing, supportive, and service-focused team culture. Line manage, coach, mentor, and support the professional development of team members.
