An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Drainage Design Engineer (specialising in water, flooding, and drainage) to join our Transportation team in Salford. The role involves identifying and developing technical design solutions that meet established standards, deadlines, and budget requirements across a variety of design contracts. A valid full driving licence is a mandatory requirement for this position. Could this be you?

Location: Salford, Greater Manchester with hybrid working available

Contract: Permanent, Full time

Salary: £33k - £40k + Benefits

Responsibilities

As a Drainage Design Engineer, you will specialise in highway drainage while also applying your expertise in water utilities and Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA) requirements. In this role within Kier Design Services, you will contribute to significant and impactful projects.

Your day to day will include:

  • Preparation of technical drawings, specifications, and design calculations to support the Senior Engineer is the successful delivery of projects.
  • Delivering projects in accordance with Kier's quality control system and the client's processes.
  • Communicate clearly and openly on all matters to ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality service. This includes health, safety, and wellbeing as well as technical, commercial, and quality elements.
  • Accountable for delivery of allocated tasks and smaller projects where appropriate.

What are we looking for?

This role of Drainage Design Engineer is great if you have:

  • Civil Engineering degree - or a similar combination of qualifications and/or experience
  • Membership with relevant engineering body
  • CSCS card
  • A motivated and conscientious individual who is personally committed to continuous improvement and delivering a high-quality service.
