What You'll Do

As a Learning & Development Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring a seamless onboarding experience for all staff across London, Amsterdam, and Brussels (LAB). You will also oversee the local training programs for our senior consulting staff (PPPLs: Project Leaders, Principals, and Partners), ensuring they have access to high-quality learning content.

Business partner for our new hire onboarding and PPPL staff

  • Partner with Career Development team, Talent Partners and Practice Area (PA) Nodes to understand development needs & skills gaps for the cohorts and for specific individuals
  • Partner with HR, Career Development and Function leads to deliver a high-quality, tailored onboarding program for all new hires
  • Partner with EMESA and Global L&D teams
    • Co-shape EMESA or global initiatives to ensure LAB knowledge, best practices and needs are taken into account.
    • Support roll-out of regional/global initiatives and campaigns, driving content development or pilots where required

Project management

  • Oversee successful implementation, execution & administration of the training offer for PPPLs and the onboarding program
  • Drive projects at LAB, EMESA and Global level in line with strategy and business goals
  • Lead change efforts to revamp curriculum, delivery and communication

Build and develop the LAB L&D trainer team

  • Attract & motivate new trainers to join our L&D trainer team
  • Ensure appropriate onboarding and development of L&D trainers, building a pipeline into regional & global L&D faculty where required
  • Develop relationships with training agencies & vendors
  • Serve as part of the L&D faculty
  • Deliver local/system and/or regional/global trainings
  • Upskill and coach new L&D trainers

Responsible for managing L&D Specialists across our three offices and India

  • Manage and support the team members in each office to execute their day-to-day tasks
  • Oversee their professional development and provide apprenticeship
  • Create an encouraging, supporting and stimulating work environment
  • Support the other L&D Managers during sickness and holidays

What You'll Bring

  • 6+ years' experience in Learning & Development
  • University advanced degree
  • Experience with onboarding programs
  • Experience leading and managing a team
  • Experience in training or coaching within a professional services / consultancy environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills, orientation to detail and proactivity
  • Excellent English skills (verbal and written communication)

You're good at

  • Understanding of the consulting business, and the nature of work we do with clients
  • Proficiency in all standard software used at BCG (Excel, Powerpoint, Word )
  • Experience with LMS software (e.g. SABA)
  • A 'can do' and flexible attitude, creative problem-solving skills and tenacity to find solutions
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills
  • Patience and sensitivity to listen to and deal with complex issues
  • Self-motivated, works independently and takes initiative
  • Well organized, with strong ability to plan ahead and manage large number of initiatives in parallel
  • Working effectively under narrow time limitations or produce accurate results
  • High degree of integrity
  • Having excellent project management skills to ensure timely closure of activities
  • Clarity, tact and professionalism in communications
  • Experience in managing key stakeholder relationships, including interactions with Senior Management
  • Being able to give honest and open feedback in a timely manner
