Posted 7 hours 23 minutes ago by The Security Centre Limited
NB: Despite this being a remote role, you must reside somewhere in the UK and have a valid work permit to apply for this role. Unfortunately, we will not be able to sponsor visas at the moment.
We are searching for our first Site Reliability Engineer to join our fast-growing cyber security startup. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our AWS-based infrastructure. You will design and implement best practices for system reliability, automation, and incident management. This role requires someone who is proactive, solutions-driven, and comfortable defining processes from the ground up.
In this role you will:- Own and drive reliability initiatives to improve uptime, scalability, and performance across our AWS serverless infrastructure.
- Implement and optimise observability solutions, including logging, monitoring, and alerting.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment processes and reduce downtime.
- Lead incident management - own post-mortems, root cause analysis and reliability improvements.
- Work closely with engineering teams to drive reliability best practices.
- Optimize cost and performance across AWS resources.
- 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a related field.
- Strong AWS expertise, particularly with serverless technologies (Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, AppSync etc.).
- Proficiency in Python, with experience in automation, scripting and infrastructure-as-code (AWS CDK experience is a plus).
- Deep understanding of observability tools and practices (monitoring, logging, tracing).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, using AWS CodeBuild, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
- Proactive, self-starter mentality, capable of working independently and leading reliability initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and influence best practices.
- A chance to be the first SRE hire, shaping the reliability culture of the company.
- The opportunity to work with cutting-edge AWS serverless technologies.
- A dynamic, fast-paced work environment with a strong focus on innovation.
- We're an all-remote company and are fully embracing it. Want to work from a different location? Go for it.
- Open holiday allowance (and we encourage you to actually use it).
- Many of us are parents, and we understand the need for flexibility.
