Location: London

Access Talent Group are currently recruiting for an employee-owned multidiscipline Consultancy in London. They are looking for a Principal or Associate Civil Engineer with a background in Drainage and Flood Risk.

This Consultancy is looking for an experienced Principal Engineer or Associate Engineer who has a background in and can lead legislation related to flood risk and drainage. The individual will be responsible for the financial performance of a small team of engineers delivering Flood Risk Assessments (FRA's) and the detailed design of foul and surface water Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS). In addition, the successful candidate will have relevant experience in delivering flood alleviation schemes for both public and private sector clients.

This individual will have 7 - 10 years within the sector and have experience running a small team of engineers. You will be involved in preparing flood risk assessments, conceptual and detailed design for drainage strategies. You should have a commercial background or have some exposure as you will be preparing fee proposals and managing your own projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Have a degree in civil engineering and have or will be approaching CEng or CIWEM status.
  2. Preparation of Flood Risk Assessments in Flood Zones 1, 2, and 3.
  3. Undertake conceptual and detailed design of surface water flood alleviation works.
  4. Preparation of complex foul and surface water drainage strategies (suitable for outline/detailed planning and s104 submission) and detailed design of the same (which incorporate SuDS techniques).
  5. Knowledge of WinDES, InfoDrainage, and Flow software packages.
  6. Preparation of water chapters for Environmental Statements.
  7. Good written and spoken communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
