About Horley PCN
Horley Primary Care Network is an NHS Collaboration between 2 GP practices - East Surrey Modality Medical Practice and Wayside Surgery - covering Horley and surrounding areas. The practices have a combined population of 44,000 patients. You will be joining an enthusiastic team of clinicians and administrators including GPs, Paramedic Practitioners, Pharmacy Technicians, Clinical Pharmacists, Physician Associates, Occupational Therapists, First Contact Physiotherapists, Social Prescribers, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and more.
Our surgery teams work closely, sharing expertise and resources to develop new services. Our vision is to continue to improve the quality of care that we provide in alignment with the needs of our patient population.
Healthy Horley PCN have an exciting opportunity to expand their Primary Care workforce by employing a newly qualified Salaried GP. The PCN deliver a wide range of services including a Children and Young Persons Wellbeing Service, Anticipatory Care / Frailty Hub, GP Integrated Mental Health Services, Employment Specialist Services and a Community Health Hub (Horley Health Hub).
Your employment contract will be issued by East Surrey Modality Medical Practice.

Job summary
We are looking for 2 newly qualified (within 2 years) GPs on a fixed-term salaried contract until 31 st March 2025 (with the view to extension). This flexible position requires a commitment of 4 sessions a week and includes an opportunity for 1 of these sessions to develop an area of special interest in one of the following:
- Frailty / Anticipatory Care
- Urgent Care
- Women's Health
Primary duties and areas of responsibility
- Provide a range of medical services as defined in the core GMS contract.
- Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Provide face-to-face and virtual consultations for routine and urgent care.
- Conduct patient home visits (where required).
- Manage patient care within the Practice.
- Issue and sign computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
- Work with our clinical and support teams in delivering holistic and patient centred care.
- Maximise the effective use of current clinical computer systems.
- Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes.
- Ensure safe, evidence based and cost effective care.
- Contribute to QOF & IIF requirements.
Qualifications
- Newly qualified GP or recently completed GP training.
- Fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC)
Experience
- Experience using the EMIS clinical system.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong clinical skills with an evidence-based approach to patient care.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage time and workload effectively.
Other requirements
- Hold appropriate medical indemnity insurance.
- Successfully complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- Right to work in the UK
- Current valid driving license/access to a car
Special Working Conditions
The post-holder is required to travel independently between practice sites.
The post-holder may have contact with body fluids while in clinical practice and should be immunised against common infectious diseases.
The post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working in primary care.
