Senior Underwriter - 28176

Reporting to the Head of UK & Europe, this company is looking to recruit a Senior Underwriter to join the existing underwriting team of four underwriters who are responsible for managing a portfolio of over 30 distribution partners and USD130m of GWP, with further growth anticipated in 2024 and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

• You will be expected to take responsibility for significant elements of the portfolio helping to drive underwriting profit whilst optimising the portfolio through the market cycle.
• You will be responsible for new business development and international travel will be required.
• You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of strong relationships with Brokers and Coverholders, enabling the profitable growth of the company's portfolio.
• Our client takes a very analytical approach to underwriting and portfolio management with a team of 6 actuaries/pricing analysts, so you will be expected to think about risk in an analytical manner and be able to communicate your underwriting rationale effectively to a variety of stakeholders.
• University Degree.
• Must have a strong/credible presence in the Lloyd's/London market and have the ability to produce business.
• Experience within the delegated authority or reinsurance market where a portfolio underwriting approach is required.
• Proven track record of understanding and delivering underwriting profit.
• Experience in contract negotiation and the ability to influence others.
