Tier 3 Transmission Engineer

As a key member of our Transmission Engineering team, you will play a vital role in managing euNetworks' metro and long-haul transmission platforms. Working within this dynamic team, you will contribute to the growth and development of our expanding European network. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a consistently evolving infrastructure.
A primary focus of the role will be to develop and optimize euNetworks' active network platform in line with product management requirements. Your aim will be to achieve the best total cost of ownership per service, ensure scalability, and maintain operational stability.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage the lifecycle of existing platforms, including the introduction of new platforms and the phased retirement of end-of-life systems with minimal customer service disruption.
- Provide Tier 3 support for complex and systematic failure troubleshooting (on-call participation optional).
- Configure transmission platforms for new builds, service deliveries, and migrations.
- Identify repetitive tasks and define requirements for service automation.
- Support the technical and commercial aspects of equipment selection and type approval processes.
- Create and maintain operational design documentation, such as default installation credentials and configuration templates.
- Participate in and support service activation processes.
- Assist in integrating and developing network management applications to enhance operational efficiency and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Assess risks associated with complex change activities during migrations and scheduled maintenance, and actively participate in the Change Advisory Board.
- Identify and address systemic problems, collaborating with suppliers to implement effective solutions.
- Hands-on experience with platforms from vendors such as Infinera, Ciena, and ADVA.
- Expert knowledge of DWDM and transmission technologies.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in telecommunications.
- Practical experience with network builds, upgrades, and managing existing infrastructure.
- Vendor qualifications in relevant hardware (preferred).
- Strong team player with the ability to build and maintain internal relationships.
- Knowledge of metro and long-haul networks (advantageous).
