Build your facilitation and negotiation skills
If we are going to create change on a large scale and build a global community, careful navigation of our global sphere will require competent exercise of systems thinking, negotiation, and facilitation.
On this five-week course from Ubiquity University, you’ll be introduced to the concepts of these soft skills as well as looking at leadership and setting long term goals.
Explore leadership styles and conflict resolution
You’ll start by focusing on the kinds of leadership styles required to handle hyper complexity. A close companion to this is understanding what drives us and what motivates us as individuals and groups.
On this course, you’ll also explore how to motivate yourself and others, how to use interpersonal skills, and some basic conflict resolution tactics.
Discover how sustainable communities are built with systems thinking
Sustainable communities are planned and built to address multiple human needs and to promote sustainable living. You’ll look at several communities designed for sustainability from the start and examine how building projects in your community could be possible.
While discussing the design of sustainable communities, you’ll learn the basics of systems thinking and assess how the individual parts of a system work within the context of a larger, interconnected system.
Set long term goals and plan strategies to achieve them
To finish your learning, you’ll assess your own personal situation and practice setting some long term goals in relation to the UN SDGs and the soft skills that you’ve gained throughout this course. You’ll then look at strategies to help you reach these goals while sustaining effort as you work towards them.
This course is designed for anyone looking to improve their soft skills to help in career development. It will be especially useful if you’re interested in sustainability and how to use these soft skills to improve yourself and the planet.
