Develop your digital literacy skills and improve your confidence
This practical four-week course from Australia’s Deakin University is designed to help develop your digital skills and improve your overall confidence online.
This in turn will help you to better connect with people across the digital sphere, access a multitude of services, manage your finances and make you more comfortable in living and working in our increasingly digital and globalised world.
Identify your digital literacy goals and learn how to stay safe online
Firstly, you’ll examine and collate your personal goals for improving digital literacy using a quiz, a discussion and a reflection, and will share your experiences with other people on a similar journey.
You’ll then decipher specific digital techniques to help you overcome your fears and barriers in order to help you stay safe online.
Explore how to navigate the social media landscape
You’ll then explore various different online communities and see how they can add value and meaning into your life. This will include social media channels, and you’ll get to grips with how to maneuver your way through the social media landscape.
Ultimately, through completion of this course, you’ll establish how the internet can make your life easier by supporting everyday tasks, and will help to develop your digital confidence in order to keep problem solving, exploring and learning online.
