Job DescriptionWorking as part of the Vice Chancellor's Office, you will support the Associate Director of Health and Safety in the implementation of the University's Health and Safety Strategy and Plan within the Faculty of Education Health and Human Sciences (FEHHS), ensuring a safe working environment and maintaining the health and wellbeing of staff, students, contractors, and visitors.
Based at our Avery Hill campus and working across all of our sites, the successful candidate will be part of a small but high performing team, providing competent advice on operational health and safety matters, reviewing related risk assessments/codes of practice, conducting investigations into significant incidents, ensuring all local H&S post holders complete relevant training to enable them to complete their tasks, and maintaining associated local records.
You will provide a flexible, proactive, and visible approach to all Health and Safety matters and encourage a positive attitude towards Health and Safety throughout the Faculty.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated self-starter to help the University meet and surpass its statutory obligations and ensure staff and students at the University of Greenwich are healthy and safe.
QualificationsTo be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate broad knowledge of workplace Health and Safety, including UK legislation and enforcement systems. You will hold a relevant recognised qualification, to the minimum standard of NEBOSH Diploma/NVQ Level 5, or equivalent post-graduate Health & Safety related qualification.
