Your new company
I am partnering exclusively with an organisation in Southampton who are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their small team as a result of restructuring due to organisational growth.
Your new role
Supporting the small finance function through assisting in various accounting tasks and working closely with the Operations and Accounting Teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
- Record day-to-day financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
- Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Liaise with suppliers and customers directly to manage any queries that arise
- Liaise with Purchasing on weekly payment runs and purchase order management
- Processing expense claims to ensure timely payment.
- Participate in financial audits and provide support as needed.
- Stay informed about relevant accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Assist with projects and perform other duties as assigned by the Finance Director.
- Seeking someone who is studying AAT or equivalent or someone who is qualified by experience.
- Proficiency in handling and rectifying issues suggesting process improvements, where required, with full FD support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and good knowledge and experience of accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively. A self-motivator.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
- You will earn a competitive salary of £26,000 - £32,000 per annum dependent on experience.
