Job overview
  • To operate as an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist in Surgery across the Trust.
  • To be the speciality pharmacist for Specialist Surgery and Theatres supporting safe and effective use of medicines within these specialties to improve medicines safety.
  • To operationally oversee on a day to day basis the performance of the surgical team working within these specialties.
  • To effectively manage and supervise pharmacists working within the surgical team and oversee the supervision of other pharmacy staff working on the surgical wards.
  • To deputise for the Lead Pharmacist for Surgery at Pharmacy and Care Group level when required.
Main duties of the job
  • To operate as an Advanced Clinical Pharmacist in Specialist Surgery and across the Trust
  • To be the dedicated pharmacist for Specialist Surgery and Theatres across the Trust and supporting safe and effective use of medicines within this specialty to improve medicines safety
  • To operationally oversee on a day to day basis the performance of the surgical team working at WHH
  • To effectively manage and supervise pharmacists working within the surgical team and oversee the supervision of other pharmacy staff working on the surgical wards
  • To deputise for the Lead Pharmacist for Surgery at Pharmacy and Care Group level when required
Person specification Experience
  • Significant experience working with surgical specialties
  • Teaching a variety of HCP
  • Management of staff and or service
Qualification
  • MPharms
  • Diploma or equivalent clinical knowledge demonstrated
  • NMP or enrolled on a course
  • Educational Supervisor or equivalent
