We have an ideal development opportunity in our Cancer Services team for an enthusiastic and experienced pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care for patients within this specialty.
We have a great oncology and haematology multi-disciplinary team who have a well-established service. The post-holder will be an integrated member of this team providing in-patient provision as well as a clinical service to patients visiting our chemotherapy day unit.

Main duties of the jobAs the Advanced Clinical Pharmacist in Women's and Children's and Cancer Services you will support the Lead Pharmacist to provide an oncology and haematology clinical pharmacy service to our chemotherapy day unit and inpatient haematology ward.
You will carry out the release of systemic anticancer treatments (SACT & CIVAS) and clinical trials products prepared by the aseptic production unit and support the development of our pharmacy technicians to undertake this role themselves.
As an advanced pharmacist you will be a source of advice for pharmacists and other healthcare professionals for cancer services and will participate in multidisciplinary and governance meetings.

Person specification Qualifications/training and professional development- Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy plus a year pre-registration training
- Registered as a Practicing Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Evidence of completion of the Aseptic Preparation and Dispensing of Medicines Course
- Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice - Oncology Module
- Evidence of completion of Aseptics for Section Managers or equivalent
- Evidence of completion of Advanced Aseptic Preparation or equivalent
- Extensive experience as a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner
- Clinical practice in Cancer Services
- Delivering training and education at post graduate level
- Variety of clinical practice including medicine and surgery as a specialist
- Experience of working in an aseptic unit
- Experience in the management of others
- Ability to influence senior pharmacy and medical staff, the multidisciplinary team and management
- Ability to identify and prioritise Clinical Pharmacy services
- Enhances the quality of care and the patient experience
- Enthusiasm for the position
- Friendly, empathetic and reliable team worker, able to relate to all grades of staff
