Job Description

We are recruiting for an Affiliate Technical Consultant (Windows Server Security Remediation) for a 3-6 month contract to start in May.

Some travel to Manchester expected as necessary.

What you'll bring to the table:

  1. Substantial experience administering and securing Windows Server environments.
  2. Ability to identify and remediate unpatched systems and misconfigurations.
  3. Familiarity with tools and techniques for local and remote auditing, scripting, and automated remediation (e.g. PowerShell).
  4. Comfortable working in environments with incomplete documentation or unknown configuration baselines.
  5. Able to work independently with minimal supervision, using initiative to investigate and resolve issues.
  6. Excellent documentation and communication skills - ability to log findings, actions taken, and outcomes clearly and consistently.
  7. Strong awareness of IT security principles, risk-based remediation, and operational impacts of changes.
  8. Open approach to working as part of our team to deliver flexibly and at pace to resolve client challenges as they emerge.
  9. Experience working within structured change management, bringing a proactive approach to consulting & communicating with stakeholders.
  10. Open approach to collaborating with infrastructure, security, and service desk teams to coordinate actions and handoffs.
  11. (Desirable) Experience conducting security hardening against industry standards.
  12. (Desirable) Experience assessing server roles, dependencies, and business use to determine whether systems can be safely decommissioned.
  13. (Desirable) Understanding of virtualised infrastructure - ability to operate in environments hosted on VMware vSphere/ESXi.
