Job Title: Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
Location: London, ON
Contract: 6 month renewable contract
Postal Code: N5V Responsibilities:
- Performing complex structure and aircraft installations, repairs, rework, and tests.
- Completing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, testing, inspections, installations, modifications and component changes of aircraft structures, components, and test equipment.
- Inspecting, testing and evaluating structural damage.
- Completing required paperwork, certifications and releases for work completed to meet airworthiness standards.
- Troubleshooting mechanical and structural problems.
- Complying with all safety regulations.
- Ensuring aircraft is ready for authorization or certification for maintenance release following any maintenance or repairs to the applicable airworthiness standard.
- Ensuring all parts and assembly meet requirements in accordance with approved data.
- Reporting unserviceable parts to the Person Responsible for Maintenance.
- Investigating aircraft system deficiencies and faults; find or discuss possible rectifications with applicable manuals and documents (e.g., service bulletins and drawings).
- Managing all parts and disposition of parts in assigned workstation by using proper documentation.
- Instructing and assisting other team members in interpretation of blueprints, drawings, and engineering orders.
- Training other team members in methods and procedures.
- Diploma from accredited Post secondary institution considered an asset.
- Previous experience in general aviation maintenance considered an asset.
- AME M1 license is a requirement (candidates can be in process of M1 license).
- Radio operators certificate considered an asset.
- Pilots license considered an asset.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs (25 kg).
- Work is done mostly indoors - AC in the summer and heated in the winter.
- Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints and schematic diagrams.
- Familiar with all functions of components and systems for installation.
- Possess skill in close tolerance work (e.g., drilling, reaming, ship fitting parts, etc.).
- Thorough knowledge in the use of multiple measuring devices with ability to use within specified tolerance.
- Ability to use computer programs such as Excel and Word.
- Ability to navigate systems such as Smarteam and Navision considered an asset.
- Ability to research and understand the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and FAA Regulations (FARs).
