At Honda we embrace inclusion in our various policies, so whilst our contracts state that the hours are as required to fulfil the role with a minimum of 35 hours per week, we offer flexibility for when you work. The regular office hours are 08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 - 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement.
Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home 2 days per week, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office.
Role:The Area Sales Manager for the Power Products industry is responsible for driving sales growth, managing customer relationships, and supporting the dealer and distributor network within their assigned territory. This role involves achieving sales targets, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering tailored solutions and support. The Area Sales Manager acts as a key representative of the company, working closely with internal teams to execute sales strategies aligned with the company's goals.
This role is ideal for a results-driven and customer-focused professional with a passion for the Lawn and Garden industry. The Area Sales Manager will play a critical role in driving growth, building relationships, and ensuring customer satisfaction within their territory.
This role requires travelling within the assigned area.
This area will include: Cambridgeshire, Cheshire, Clwyd, County Durham, Cumbria, Derbyshire, East Riding of Yorkshire, Gynedd, Lancashire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Merseyside, Norfolk, North Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Powys, Shropshire, South Yorkshire, Staffordshire, Warrington, West Midlands, West Yorkshire, Yorkshire.
Main Responsibilities: Sales Target Achievement- Achieve and exceed sales targets for the assigned territory through effective planning and execution according to European guidelines and strategy.
- Develop and implement sales strategies to grow market share and revenue in the Power Product sector.
- Monitor sales performance regularly and provide accurate forecasts and reports to management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, distributors, and other sales partners.
- Support dealers in meeting their sales goals through training, promotional activities, and regular communication.
- Monitor dealer performance and implement improvement plans where necessary.
- Identify and onboard new dealers and distributors to enhance market coverage.
- Identify new business opportunities, including untapped markets, emerging customer needs, and potential partnerships.
- Conduct market research to analyse trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities.
- Develop and present proposals to customers and dealers that align with their needs and the company's capabilities.
- Maintain close relationships with dealers, ensuring their needs are met and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Act as the primary point of contact for dealers, providing technical and product support when necessary.
- Regularly visit dealers to strengthen relationships, gather feedback, and identify additional opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute local promotional campaigns, product launches, and events.
- Ensure promotional materials and marketing efforts are aligned with the company's branding and messaging.
- Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events within the territory.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the company's Power Products business, including features, benefits, and competitive advantages.
- Train dealers, distributors, and customers on product usage, maintenance, and best practices.
- Stay updated on new product launches, market trends, and technological advancements in the industry.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and market data in the company's system.
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities for management.
- Use data-driven insights to recommend adjustments to sales strategies and initiatives.
- Work closely with product management, marketing, and operations teams to align sales efforts with business objectives.
- Provide feedback to internal teams on market needs, customer preferences, and product performance.
- Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of products to customers and dealers.
- Demonstratable sales experience, preferably in the Lawn and Garden industry or related sectors (e.g., agricultural equipment, outdoor products).
- Proven ability to close deals, manage sales pipelines, and achieve targets.
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with dealers, distributors, and customers.
- Familiarity with the Power Products industry, including product categories, customer needs, and market trends.
- Ability to analyse sales data, market trends, and performance metrics to inform decision-making.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with stakeholders and delivering presentations.
- Ability to address challenges and develop solutions to meet customer and dealer needs.
- Strong ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and other sales-related software.
- Full clean UK driving licence to travel between sites.
- Knowledge of Lawn and Garden equipment, tools, or accessories is a strong advantage.
