We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Farm Manager to join our team at Ashperton Farm. This is your opportunity to gain valuable experience on a modern, high-performing rearing site and make a real impact in the agricultural sector.

About the Role

As Assistant Farm Manager, you'll work closely with the Farm Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the site. Your focus will be on maintaining high standards of bird welfare, farm hygiene, and operational efficiency. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills while contributing to a supportive, hard-working team.

What You'll Be Doing
  1. Supporting the Farm Manager and providing cover during absences
  2. Monitoring bird health, welfare, and performance
  3. Managing feed, water, ventilation, and alarm systems
  4. Upholding strict hygiene and biosecurity standards
  5. Coordinating with contractors and supporting staff
  6. Ensuring compliance with health & safety procedures
What We're Looking For
  1. A genuine interest in agriculture and working with livestock (poultry experience a plus!)
  2. Strong communication and organisational skills
  3. A proactive, hands-on approach with flexibility to meet farm demands
  4. Ability to lead and support a small team
  5. Important: Due to bird welfare standards, applicants must not keep avian pets or poultry at home

Working Pattern
  1. 6 days per week
  2. Monday to Friday plus every other weekend
  3. 7:30am - 4:00pm
  4. Some night catching required
