Description

We are seeking an Assistant People Business Partner to join the CSG People team, to cover maternity leave on a fixed term contract from July 25 for eight months, during an exciting period of business change and growth. The purpose of this role is to support the People Business Partners with the provision of a proactive strategic service to the business, delivering the CSG People Plan and supporting annual business processes.

Who you'll be working with

Reporting into a People Business Partner, you will be an integral part of the CSG People team and will work closely with People Business Partners, internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support the provision of a high performing people business partnering service, which helps to meet the needs of colleagues, supports successful outcomes for clients and aligns with the CSG business strategy. This role is linked to the Birmingham office, but with the opportunity for significant levels of remote working.


What you will do?

You will work alongside another Assistant People Business Partner to support the People Business Partners and business stakeholders to deliver a variety of generalist people activities, which will include:

  • Supporting People Business Partners with general queries and people related activity linked to the CSG Business Plan. This could include initiatives and projects related to organisational structure and resource planning, lateral hires, talent and succession planning, inclusion and diversity, well-being, colleague engagement, reward and recognition and learning and development.
  • Being the key contact in the People Business Partner team for a Product/area of CSG and leading on all People Business Partner activities in that area.
  • Co-ordinating key annual processes, including the promotions process, salary review, professional funding and bonus payments. This will include data cleansing, validation, data analysis and reporting.
  • Supporting the ongoing backend maintenance and development of the feedback and performance system, working closely with the external supplier to embed new functionality and drive ongoing system enhancements. This includes generating regular reports from the system to share with business leaders.
  • Dealing with regular and ad hoc people data reports, including supporting with the identification of trends and with appropriate analysis of information, where required.
  • Representing the People team in the International Working Committee.
  • Providing collaborative ad hoc support to the People Advisory team and/or Talent Attraction team during periods of high demand.
  • Identifying areas of continuous improvement or added value to the business.
  • Embedding and demonstrating the culture and values of CSG, whilst encouraging colleagues to be accountable to do the same.

Who you are
  • A CIPD qualification, or part qualification, is desirable but not essential as is the ability to understand a professional services business environment.
  • Previous experience working in a busy People / HR team is essential, as well as significant expertise (ideally at Advisor level) in either Employee Relations, Recruitment or Learning and Development. Broad knowledge and some experience across all of these areas would be advantageous to the role.
  • IT and data literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office. MS Excel knowledge and strong numerical skills are essential for this role, given the significant reward and data responsibilities, as well as an interest in data analysis and experience of working with People systems.
  • Evidence of strong stakeholder engagement skills, able to confidently and effectively communicate and collaborate with colleagues at all levels, and challenge where appropriate.
  • Proactive and willing to take ownership of tasks and projects.
  • Highly organised, has the ability to prioritise effectively and deal calmly with deadlines and conflicting priorities.
  • Team oriented, flexible and enthusiastic with a positive and collaborative approach.
  • Ability to work autonomously and use own initiative when required.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Has strong commercial awareness and is solutions orientated, with an enthusiasm for innovation and improvement.
