Job Description

Shenandoah University's School of Health Professions is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor, Division of Athletic Training and Associate Program Director for Performing Arts Medicine. This full-time benefited position will work out of our Winchester, VA campus.

The Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) program is a hybrid program, requiring course delivery in both traditional and online formats. The MSAT program also pairs with the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program to offer a unique dual pathway in which select students may complete the MSAT and DPT programs simultaneously. The PAM and Esports Medicine certificate programs are primarily online programs open to graduate students and healthcare providers who wish to gain knowledge and skills specific to treating performing artists.

The primary responsibilities of this position include teaching and student advising in the didactic and clinical phases of the MSAT, PAM, and ESM programs.

In addition, faculty within the program are expected to participate in interprofessional education opportunities, engage in scholarship, and provide service including active participation on program, school, and university committees. Opportunities are provided for professional service to the AT profession and clinical practice. This position will also require clinical hours within the Shenandoah Performing Arts Rehabilitation Clinic (SPARC) and dance concert coverage.

We seek candidates whose teaching, research, and/or service has prepared them to support our commitment to fostering a diverse community supported by an equitable, inclusive campus climate that engages diverse audiences in athletic training and PAM education.
