Associate Data & Analytics Engineer

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has a great opportunity for an Associate Data and Analytics Engineer to join our Data Science & Insights team on a fixed term contract. In this role you will be responsible for supporting organisation wide data and analytics. The role is hands-on, ensuring that data is consolidated, standardised and accessible in a manner that is useful to the business. You will play a key role in data management, data transformation and analytics delivery across the RSC, ensuring data is managed as an asset, creating a joined-up, shared view of customers, products and services.

We are looking for:

1. Educated to degree level or equivalent level of knowledge in a STEM subject area.
2. Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail; with the ability to analyse, extract and interpret information.
3. Experience developing a joined-up, shared view of customers.
4. Demonstrable experience in data analysis, interpretation and visualisation.
5. Basic proficiency querying and manipulating data (e.g. SQL, Python, R).
6. Experience working with central data repositories, querying data and working with BI tools (e.g. Power BI).
7. Familiarity with version control systems for managing code (e.g. Git).
8. Experience in data standardisation and QA techniques.
9. Able to confidently work within a technical team, with business stakeholders, 3rd parties as well as independently, and to clearly communicate technical concepts to both a technical and a non-technical audience.
