About the Role: Ambition is partnering with a leading Top 20 firm to hire a Audit & Accounts Manager for their Central London office. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking and growing team, with the flexibility to shape the role around your strengths and interests.

About the Team: The team has been expanding year on year, driven by a mix of client wins through tendering and organic growth. This growth promises future opportunities for career progression.

Your Portfolio: You will manage a portfolio of audit and accounts clients worth approximately £800k-£1m (or less depending on experience), including SMEs and PE-backed businesses. Clients span various sectors, with particular strength in tech and construction. The established team offers flexibility, allowing you to focus on audit, accounts, or a balanced mix, tailored to your preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of PE-backed/OMB clients across various sectors, including Tech and Construction.
  • Meet client needs and maximize portfolio fee income by delivering high-quality services.
  • Efficiently manage resources and workflow.
  • Handle client correspondence and build strong client relationships.
  • Plan, control, and review client work to ensure efficient and effective job completion.
  • Conduct pre-audit meetings with clients to discuss significant business events and areas requiring attention.
  • Prepare time budgets for assignments, ensuring profitability.
  • Ensure trainees receive a variety of jobs for broad training and experience.
  • Conduct six-monthly appraisals and sign off training records for allocated staff.
  • Complete staff review forms after each job, providing feedback and identifying areas for development.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services to offer clients.
  • Target new clients through networking, marketing, and referrals.
  • Undertake ad-hoc project work, including compliance or value-added services.

Requirements:

  • ACA ICAEW, ACCA qualified or equivalent.
  • Recent exposure to both audit and accounts work in the UK.
  • Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided).
  • Practical experience with UK GAAP.
  • Experience with IFRS is beneficial.
