As an Audit RI, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality audit services, building strong client relationships, and driving the growth of our audit practice. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of the audit department, ensuring the highest standards of quality, compliance, and strategic development.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of high-quality audit services to a varied client base, including large groups and mid-sized businesses.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on audit, risk management, and financial reporting.
  • Oversee all phases of audit engagements, ensuring full compliance with IFRS, UK GAAP, and relevant regulations.
  • Lead business development efforts, identifying and pursuing opportunities to grow the audit practice.
  • Mentor and develop audit teams, fostering a culture of technical excellence and professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and the firm's quality standards across all audit engagements.
  • Manage the project lifecycle for substantial audits, ensuring timelines, budgets, and resources are optimised for high-quality delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of the firm's audit strategy, aligning it with the broader goals of Simmons Gainsford and the Sumer Group.
  • Represent the firm at industry events and networking opportunities to enhance business visibility.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualifications.
  • Qualified with experience as a Responsible Individual (RI)
  • Extensive experience in audit and assurance, with a significant part in a senior leadership or partner role.
  • Proven ability to lead complex audit engagements for large and mid-sized clients.
  • Strong technical expertise in IFRS, UK GAAP, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated track record in business development and building long-term client relationships.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with a history of developing and managing high-performing teams.
