Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Auditor to join our client's dynamic and growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional looking to advance their career in a forward-thinking and expanding organisation. The role will involve overseeing audit processes, supervising junior staff, and working with a diverse portfolio of clients, including entrepreneurial owner-managed businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and listed clients. There is also scope to be involved in ad hoc specialist assignments as they arise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a diverse portfolio of clients, including large UK groups, privately owned limited companies, LLPs, and listed entities.
  • Planning, executing (compliance and substantive testing, analytical reviews, etc.), and completing audit work to a high standard.
  • Effectively supervising semi-senior and junior staff, including training, delegating tasks, monitoring progress, and reviewing their work.
  • Taking full responsibility for audit assignments and ensuring timely completion with support from managers and partners.
  • Preparing and implementing high-quality audit work programmes.
  • Attending and contributing to external planning and completion audit meetings.
  • Addressing technical issues or escalating them for guidance when necessary.
  • Agreeing adjustments with clients and collaborating with the accounts team to update disclosure requirements.
  • Auditing tax computations.
  • Drafting management letters and reports.
  • Keeping senior management informed of progress.
  • Delivering audit outputs within specified budget and timescales.
  • Managing general office-based duties as required, including mentoring new team members.
Key Requirements
  • ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Desire to work in a 100% audit-focused position.
  • Up-to-date working knowledge of financial reporting, accounting standards, auditing standards, company law, and a good basic knowledge of corporate tax to enable draft tax computations to be reviewed.
  • Previous experience in a similar audit role with the ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to manage client relationships, and excellent communication skills.
