We are looking for home-based Auditors (with minimal travel for training and company meetings).
The Auditor will perform audits and analyze the competency, capability, and capacity of an entity, its employees, and products and services using required, requested, and submitted evidence on our systems and in the public domain. Day to day, you will prepare reports, perform risk management tasks to protect and improve safety, efficiency, and ensure compliance with appropriate standards and regulations. The outcomes of which will either meet the required standards against which the audit is being undertaken or will drive requirements for the face-to-face audit of the entity by the Lead Auditor.
You will be responsible for undertaking audits on suppliers registering to provide services through RSSB, using the Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) or Railway Industry Supplier Approval Scheme (RISAS).
Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with scheme procedures by verification and examination of records, reports, operating practices, and documentation and adherence to business procedures.
- Undertake remote audits through verification and examination of required, requested, or submitted evidence against standards, procedures, and protocols.
- Acquire and gather audit evidence.
- Examine policies, procedures, training records, financial records, and other documentation submitted as evidence.
- Observe business procedures and continually update reports and findings and use analytics to assess operational business risks.
- Prepare or contribute to a final audit report, including making recommendations for improvements to systems and/or processes, or areas that the site-based audit should review (usually delivered by another assigned Auditor).
- Discuss conclusions and recommendations from the audit with the site-based Auditor.
- Complete audit reports by documenting audit tests and findings in a timely manner (in accordance with the scheme requirements).
- Appraise the adequacy of internal control systems by completing audit questionnaires.
- Maintain internal control systems by updating audit programs and questionnaires, recommending new policies and procedures.
- Communicate with a range of stakeholder levels including management to understand the business and their needs and to share audit findings by preparing a final report; discussing findings with the audit team.
- Comply with relevant standards, always acting in a professional manner whilst representing RSSB.
- Prepare special or remote audit and control reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing operating information, evidence, and trends.
Essential
- Proficient with IT including MS applications.
- Willingness and ability to be developed in and then maintain your knowledge of relevant RSSB Assurance, Infrastructure Manager Standards, The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015, and the rail industry in general.
- Willingness to undertake Auditor training.
- A proactive approach and ability to problem-solve.

- Ability to organize and plan as well as effectively manage own time.
