Job Description

CAA Atlantic is recruiting a skilled and dedicated Automotive Service Technician to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our fleet operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our roadside and corporate fleet. This is a Monday - Friday position based out of our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia location and standard work hours are 7:00AM - 4:00PM. The Fleet Mechanic will report directly to the Fleet Operations Manager.

Qualifications
  • Journeyman - Automotive or Commercial Truck, Red Seal, (4th year apprentice would be considered)
  • N.S Driver's License, minimum Class 5. Class 3 with Air is an asset
  • N.S Inspection license, or willingness to acquire
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capable of performing heavy physical duties
Responsibilities
  • Safely perform accurate and complete vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures safety protocols
  • Prioritize a safe working environment
  • Liaise with management to ensure a smooth flow of communication during repairs or maintenance work
  • Always strive to exceed industry standard by providing quality workmanship
  • Perform daily bay inspections to ensure shop neatness/cleanliness, and safety
  • Maintain fleet maintenance schedule and keep up to date logs with Management
    • Diagnostics
    • Tires, balancing, repairs
    • Oil changes, grease, lubrication
    • Electrical repairs, emergency lighting
    • Chassis repairs, suspension, shocks, springs, brakes
    • Engine, transmission, rearend, drivetrain
    • Fabrication, design, construction, oxy acetylene cutting, welding
  • Maintain order and inventory parts stock and materials required for the shop and fleet operations
  • Provide roadside assistance to fleet drivers when breakdowns occur
  • Maintain shop cleanliness, snow removal, salting
  • Work closely as a team to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently keeping the fleet operating
  • Take immediate action on repairs required that are submitted from drivers during truck checks
  • Check email, truck pre and post trip checks daily
  • Respond to drivers via email when repairs have been completed
  • Have the flexibility to work shift work if necessary
  • Occasionally travel to remote CAA Atlantic fleet locations for repairs in Atlantic
  • Prioritize safety and team before above all else
