We are looking for experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses to join us on our mixed ward Assessment Unit at the Kings Wood Centre, Colchester.
If successful, you will be involved with a wide multi-disciplinary team caring on an assessment ward for Adult Inpatients.
You will care for your patients holistically, involving carers and relatives and work alongside medical and therapies staff. You will be able to adapt quickly to changing situations and provide high quality care to your patients.

Main Duties of the JobJob Summary:
- Assist the ward in the day to day operation of the clinical area, and the development of the team.
- Work collaboratively as a Key Worker within the multidisciplinary team, acting as a role model for good practice.
- Ensure effective communication with patients, relatives, visitors and staff.
- Implement and ensure effective use of the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act where necessary.
- Ensure safe standards apply to the administration of medication.
- Support colleagues in interventions relating to the management of violence and aggression.
- Ability to work flexibly over a 24 hour period in order to meet the operational requirements of the unit.

Additional Duties:
- Complete mandatory training in line with Trust policy and procedures.
- Participate in the staff appraisal process.
- Provide management supervision where appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with key partner organisations, patients, carers, clinicians and other practitioners.
- RMN ENB 998 Equivalent
- Evidence of continued professional development.
- Ability to be a role model of good practice.
- Development skills and relevant qualification.
- Evidence of continued learning.
- Experience within Adults inpatient settings.
