Job Title: TB Nurse Specialist (Band 6)
Locations: Luton, LU4 & LU1
Working Pattern: Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00 (37.5 hours per week)
Flexible Options: Full-time, part-time, or job share available
Start Date: ASAP
Placement Length: Ongoing
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced TB Nurse Specialist (Band 6) to join our dedicated team in Luton. This role is ideal for a skilled nurse with a background in TB nursing and screening, looking to make a meaningful impact in preventing and managing tuberculosis within the community.
You will provide specialist nursing advice across primary and secondary care, working to prevent TB through vaccination, education, and monitoring patients undergoing treatment. The role involves close collaboration with the UK Health Security Agency, primary and secondary care teams, and implementing preventative and infection control measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist advice and support to healthcare professionals and patients
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team across various departments
- Implement infection control measures and contribute to TB prevention initiatives
- Assist with patient assessments and treatment plans
- Administer immunisations and support screening programmes
Skills & Experience Required
- RGN Qualification & NMC Registration
- Post-registration experience in a community or acute setting
- Strong knowledge & experience in TB management
- Experience developing clinical protocols, PGDs, and care pathways
- Background in infection control and screening programmes
- Strong communication, IT, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work autonomously and flexibly
