Band 7 Locum Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location: London
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Ongoing
Working Hours: Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: £32.00 - £33.00 per hour

We are seeking an experienced Band 7 Locum Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a dynamic team in London. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a leading medical imaging department, performing high-quality nuclear medicine scans and PET/CT procedures. The role offers full-time hours, Monday to Friday, with an ongoing contract for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures using advanced nuclear medicine and PET/CT equipment.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals and operate imaging systems.
  • Analyze scan results while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Adhere to radiation protection guidelines, infection control protocols, and quality assurance standards.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicists, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and efficient diagnostic imaging services.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree in Nuclear Medicine or Radiography.
  • HCPC registration as a Radiographer or Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • Minimum 1-2 years post-qualification in Nuclear Medicine (NHS or private setting).
  • Proficient with gamma cameras, PET-CT scanners, and radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Strong knowledge of radiation safety protocols and quality assurance.
  • Ability to administer radiopharmaceuticals and conduct diagnostic procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills with patients and healthcare teams.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead and supervise junior staff when required.
  • PET-CT and Nuc Med, injecting experience essential.
