Burnetts have a nationally recognised team of banking solicitors who act for numerous banks and building societies throughout England and Wales and for a wide range of borrower clients. The team has rapidly expanded its presence within this sector in recent years, as a result of the unique and specialist services they are able to offer.
In view of this continued expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team and work alongside some of the best lawyers in the sector.
Our programme is designed to attract high calibre legal graduates who are looking to establish a career within the specialist sector of banking law (incorporating banking, property finance and corporate finance work).
Programme:
- 1 year Paralegal experience. This will be a 12 month fixed term contract, working within the Banking team;
then, subject to performance and aptitude and continuing demand within the Team:-
- Solicitors Qualifying Examination process i.e. training within the Banking team alongside studies and the 2 required examinations ;
then, subject to performance and vacancies within the Team: -
- Employment within the Banking team as a Solicitor.
Candidates who already have an LPC qualification or exempting MLaw degree will follow the traditional Training Contract route with 3 seats in Banking and 1 contentious seat in either Employment or Dispute Resolution. Time to count may be provided following the successful completion of 1 year of paralegal work at the outset of the programme.
It is expected that the SQE will take 1.5 - 2 years to complete and is dependent on the successful completion of 1 year of paralegal work at the outset of the programme. Burnetts will pay for the cost of SQE examinations.
