Job Description

BMSI is thrilled to offer a rare opportunity for an exceptional Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) Design Manager to join our Major Projects Team. This unique role is based at a site in the RG7 area-providing you with the rare opportunity of limited travel while working closely with a standout client. Reporting to our Regional Projects Manager, you'll have the chance to make a significant impact in one location, with fantastic potential for career development. What you'll do:

  • Develop detailed scope from RIBA Stage 4 to RIBA Stage 5 for manufacture and installation
  • Read and understand Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC Specifications
  • Develop design in accordance with HAL standards
  • Read and understand Mechanical and Electrical Drawings
  • Read and understand Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC services drawings
  • Liaise with Consultant and Client to develop, agree and approve the final design
  • Create, develop and get approvals for:
    • BMS Points Lists
    • Operating and Maintenance Manuals
    • Equipment Schedules (choosing and sizing equipment)
    • Valve Schedules (choosing and sizing valves and actuators)
    • Integration of high-level system, across a number of disciplines
    • Manage the production of the software and graphics
    • Work within commercial budgets and time constraints (Contract Programme)
    • Liaise with Panel Manufacturer, to arrange panel build and check panel schematic wiring diagrams and get approvals
    • Manage and attend Factory Acceptance Tests with Consultant and Client
    • Update documents as required and provide final documentation
    • Attend meetings with the site professional team
    • Work with our clients online e-document system

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience within Building Management Systems
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar package
  • Familiar with the Schneider produce
  • You must be able to easily commute to the RG7 area
  • Applicants must be willing to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as part of the recruitment process
  • A passion for engineering and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and an understanding of MS Projects
  • Due to client requirements, applicants must be British Nationals and hold a British passport
