Business Analyst I - AR

Amazon FinOps is looking for a highly skilled Data Analyst to join the Data Analytics and Business Operations team. As an analytics expert at Amazon FinOps, you will work with large datasets, influence the evolution of our data analytics capabilities, and help develop data-driven operational strategies to succeed in dynamic business environments.

You will be a key team influencer, providing input on priorities, understanding stakeholder needs, and recommending solutions. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, validating assumptions, and advising leaders on project milestones and priorities.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Develop complex data processing jobs using technologies such as SQL and Python.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and with data source owners to understand system capabilities and limitations.
3. Manage project timelines and deliverables, anticipate risks, and resolve issues.
4. Create dashboards to monitor operational metrics and KPIs.
5. Support global FinOps teams with reporting, ad hoc analysis, statistical inference, and predictive modeling.
6. Analyze data trends and operational statistics to provide meaningful insights.
7. Interpret data and relate findings to business and operational contexts.
8. Investigate data issues, identify root causes, and develop alternative measurement strategies.
9. Build predictive models for operational drivers and metrics to aid planning.
10. Apply data/text mining algorithms to identify insights for operational optimization.

Basic Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in tax, finance, or a related analytical field.
• Over 2 years of experience writing complex Excel VBA macros.
• Experience in defining data requirements and deriving insights from metrics.
• Proficiency with SQL or ETL processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Tableau.
• Experience working with large datasets.
