Job Description

Amazon Consumer Gift Cards is a fast-growing, multi-billion-dollar, worldwide business with a mission to provide the world's most desired and convenient gift to customers.

We are looking for a Business Analyst with broad technical skills to build analytic and reporting capabilities to deliver on strategic analytical/reporting projects, define/produce end-to-end metrics that inform product, business, and marketing decisions, and identify new growth opportunities through data-driven insights. You should have deep expertise in working with large complex datasets, writing complex SQLs, deriving insights from data, performance tuning, bringing data from disparate data stores, programmatically identifying patterns, developing visualizations, and writing documents. You should have business acumen and communication skills to be able to work with stakeholders to define business requirements and develop business metrics.

From a technology perspective, you will have opportunities to get exposure to modern cloud-based data technologies. The team is empowered to select the right technology based on customer needs, and you will have the full set of AWS services in your toolbox.

Key Job Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities include but are not restricted to:

  1. Interfacing with business customers, gathering requirements, and supporting their analytics requirements.
  2. Interfacing with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL (Redshift, Oracle).
  3. Performing deep data analysis, documenting findings and insights, and communicating to business stakeholders.
  4. Empowering technical and non-technical internal customers to self-serve data pull and data analysis needs.
  5. Being the expert on the data used and generated by the team's products. Acting as Subject Matter Expert when it comes to data questions.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of business analyst, data analyst, or similar role experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, or a related technical or quantitative field.
  • Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights.
  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, QuickSight, or similar tools.
  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders.
  • Expertise with SQL and Excel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Effective spoken and written communication to senior audiences, including strong data presentation and visualization skills.
  • Experience and ability to effectively gather information from multiple data sources.
  • Knowledge and direct experience using business intelligence reporting tools such as Tableau/QuickSight.
  • Experience working with Redshift, Cradle, or other AWS tools is a plus.
