Business Development Manager (London)

POLITICO is looking for a business development manager to join our growing UK office. The BDM position is a mid-level sales position with the primary objective of growing POLITICO Pro's subscription business throughout the UK.

POLITICO Pro, POLITICO's premium B2B policy news subscription service, seeks experienced, talented and smart candidates who work proactively to achieve business objectives while maintaining a culture of collaboration, development and achievement. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a growing team in London and beyond.

This is a full-time, office-based position (with hybrid flexibility) located in London, England, and involves some travel around the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe.

What You'll Do

• Have a strong entrepreneurial mindset and a client-first mindset
• Develop outreach strategies to build relationships and drive new business revenue with clients
• Maintain a thorough understanding of clients' policy priorities, business and lead strategic advice across teams
• Keep updated on competitive trends within assigned territories
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities to achieve sales results
• Conceptualize, prepare, and deliver sales presentations
• Embody the successful brand presence of POLITICO in the market, represent POLITICO at member briefings, network events and industry conferences
• Bring energy and thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

What You'll Need:

Required:

• At least 3-5 years of professional experience, including B2B sales
• Proven ability to meet or exceed high sales targets
• Ability to prioritize and recognize business critical matters
• Entrepreneurial mindset, outgoing nature, flexible working style and strong client service ethic
• A university degree, or equivalent through work experience or other professional qualification
• Interest in, and understanding of, current political and policy issues

Preferred:

• Experience with political stakeholder engagement
• Experience in information services or software sales with a consultative selling approach
• Exposure to Salesforce or other CRM tools is preferred
