Job Description

Role summary: As a Business Improvement Specialist within DBD, you will play a crucial role in enhancing operational efficiency, safety, and compliance across the sector. Leveraging your expertise in LEAN methodologies and business improvement tools, you will work closely with teams at all levels to identify inefficiencies, optimize processes, and implement sustainable improvements. Your ability to engage stakeholders and mentor practitioners will be critical in achieving regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and long-term business success within the nuclear industry.

What you will be doing:

  • Facilitate and drive continuous improvement activities within nuclear operations and functional areas to enhance efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Work closely with executive stakeholders to integrate LEAN methodologies and business improvement principles into the highly regulated nuclear environment.
  • Design and implement best-practice tracking systems to measure and sustain improvements while ensuring alignment with nuclear regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with nuclear industry leadership and operational teams to ensure alignment and commitment to continuous improvement objectives.
  • Utilize LEAN methodologies and nuclear industry frameworks to drive measurable, lasting enhancements in safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Formal qualifications or training:

  • LEAN and Continuous Improvement Certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, LCS-accredited programs) preferred.
  • Proven experience leading business improvement initiatives within the nuclear sector or other highly regulated industries.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
