Job Description

About the role

Our Council's Calibration Services laboratory is proud to hold UKAS Accreditation for both mass calibrations (25kg to 1mg) and bulk flow (up to 5000 litres per minute). As one of the few remaining Local Authority-based metrology laboratories, our successful Calibration Services department is highly regarded by our global customers across various Local Authority and commercial business sectors. You will lead our dedicated calibration team in testing and calibrating weighing and measuring equipment across the full range of mass, length, volume, and pressure.

If you have experience managing a calibration laboratory, have previously worked in a calibration laboratory, and are looking for the next step in your career, have a keen interest in legal metrology or have worked in the metrology sector as an engineer or similar, we would love to hear from you.

Key Requirements

  • Manage our Calibration team and laboratory to ensure the delivery of a profitable team plan.
  • Serve as our subject matter expert in the field of calibration and develop best practice systems.
  • Maintain our UKAS accreditation by following operating procedures and taking remedial action based on recommendations from internal or external audits.
  • Have a keen eye for detail, produce quotations for calibration customers, and provide accurate test certificates/reports promptly.

Please note that while this role offers an agile working contract, due to the volume and technical nature of the work you will be involved in, you will be expected to work from our Budbrooke offices (CV35 7DP) for much of the working week.
