Job Title: Campaign Support Lead - Space

Salary: Circa £90,000 commensurate with skills and experience and executive benefits package.
The BAE Systems Digital Intelligence Space business unit was created in July 2024, bringing together In-Space Missions with existing BAE Systems Space expertise to demonstrate our commitment to investing in Space, present a clear, consistent message for our customers, and align our extensive combined capabilities to deliver Azalea.
Our mission is to be a British Space prime delivering defence, security and civil Space capabilities and data services to UK and international customers. We're focused on National Security & Defence (Secure Space), Space Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) capability, Data & Digital Insights, and Missions & Rideshare.
What you'll be doing:
- Provide comprehensive business winning support to the Space Domestic Business Development Director (D&NS) and Space Business Unit Domestic Campaigns team.
- Adoption of business winning and campaign best practice, adoption of the BAE Systems business winning toolkit and all of the associated activities required for campaigning in a complex and contested market.
- Establish new, and mature, targeted strategic customer relationships e.g. 1 and above, across MOD and other relevant Government departments.
- Engage senior Company executives in contact activity as part of agreed customer relationship strategy.
- Provide steering for core space capability/product development in support of those campaigns, in doing so, consider design for future exportability. Including CTIO / centralised strategic investments and route to UK market.
- In collaboration with the Space BU, pursue and deliver growth through the definition of a qualified and unweighted pipeline of opportunities for further development.
- Support the Space BU to develop the associated financial data for the Integrated Business Plan (Orders/Sales/Investment Budgets etc.) and the campaign strategy and go to market plans to deliver that strategy.
- Co-create the organisational construct and manage the tasks of the Capture Managers, Business Development Managers and functional teams that support the execution of the current campaign objectives.
- Support establishing Comms & Marketing KPI's and attendance at events to showcase space capabilities to improve win rate.
- Collaborate to shape customer requirements, defining the route to contract, associated timeline and acting as customer advocate during solution development.
- Establish the appropriate governance framework for domestic space campaigns, support the Space BU updates and if agreed, represent the business on pan-company steering boards, working groups and committees.
- Will have the appropriate experience and competencies to support and mentor early-stage business development activity with UK MOD / Space Command and other Government Departments, doing so in close cooperation with Head Office Group Business Development.
Your skills and experiences:
- Ability to define and implement a win strategy and be able to define a solution that meets the needs of the customer whilst ensuring the solution is deliverable by the business.
- Ability to identify, manage, develop and sustain strong senior customer (internal and external) relationships.
- Subject Matter Expert for Business Winning associated with large/complex campaigns.
- High levels of commercial and business acumen.
- Ability to navigate uncertainty, remain adaptable and able to context switch seamlessly across the breadth of the campaign.
- Application of Business Winning Processes, policies, tools and Approvals.
