External Job Title: Category Manager

Job Summary: As a Category Manager at Amazon, you'll be responsible for the customer experience and growth of your assigned category. You'll curate product assortments, design promotions, manage partnerships, and develop long-term growth strategies. This role requires a blend of analytical skills, creative problem-solving, and strong leadership to anticipate customer needs and drive category performance.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and execute category strategies to enhance customer experience and drive growth
  2. Manage relationships with sellers and brands to expand product offerings
  3. Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to inform decision-making
  4. Design and implement targeted promotions to increase category performance
  5. Collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes and drive innovation
Basic Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  2. 5+ years of experience in retail, operations, product management, or business consulting
  3. Demonstrated experience in negotiations and delivering results
  4. Proficiency in Excel and data analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience managing large data sets to drive performance improvements
  2. Background in vendor negotiations, pricing strategies, and inventory management
  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  4. Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional projects
  5. Adaptable mindset with a passion for solving complex problems

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  1. 3+ years of experience with Excel
  2. 5+ years of experience in retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results
  3. Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience
  4. Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Experience managing large data sets and utilizing them to drive performance and process improvements
  2. Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
