Job Description

Location: London Area, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

The Greyhound Board of Great Britain (GBGB) is seeking an inspiring and strategic Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization through a period of transformation.

Your Mission: As CEO, you will be at the helm of a dynamic industry, ensuring strong governance, driving innovation, and fostering a culture of inclusivity and responsibility.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing bold leadership through a pivotal period of change.
  • Driving effective regulation and ensuring the highest standards of integrity across the sport.
  • Championing governance and welfare to maintain and enhance GBGB's reputation.
  • Implementing a compelling strategic vision set by the GBGB Board.
  • Promoting and executing GBGB's Welfare Strategy, ensuring the care and well-being of greyhounds remain at the heart of operations.
  • Supporting commercial growth by working with stakeholders to develop a sustainable financial future for the industry.
  • Building a more inclusive and diverse sport, making greyhound racing accessible to all communities.
  • To develop further relationships with bookmakers to ensure that suitable levy funding is sustainable.
  • Overseeing financial strategy in collaboration with the Director of Finance to manage budgets effectively.
  • Inspiring and leading a dedicated team, ensuring GBGB staff and resources are aligned for success.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders, from industry leaders to media representatives, shaping public perception and fostering strong partnerships.
  • Representing GBGB on the Board of the BGRF, advocating for the sport at the highest levels.

Who You Are:

  • Proven experience as a CEO, MD, or Senior Board member, with a track record of delivering impact.
  • Strong strategic management skills, particularly in times of change and challenge.
  • A solid grasp of financial management, including budget oversight and business acumen in a not-for-profit regulatory environment.
  • A deep commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusivity.
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships across a wide range of stakeholders
  • Resilience and adaptability to thrive under pressure.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
  • A strong understanding of, or willingness to develop knowledge in, animal welfare and greyhound racing.
