Children's Social Care Accountant

Children's Social Care Accountant needed in Lambeth, £300.77 per day PAYE - Reference: RQ

The service is experiencing financial pressures and has challenging saving targets to deliver over the medium term. The Accountant will support the significant service transformation to ensure that the current overspend is managed and mitigated while supporting the delivery of the saving programme.

Main Duties:

• Active role in budget monitoring ensuring value is added throughout the process, including being able to explain the financials in simple terms.
• Provide challenge and support the development of mitigations.
• Present information to senior colleagues.
• Conduct financial modelling and appraisal for various mini projects requiring robust financial analysis.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate difficult messages confidently but with compassion and tact.
• Line management experience is desirable, as this role will manage two Assistant Accountants.

This is a full-time role on a temporary contract basis.
