Civil Construction Engineer

I am representing a leading Principal Contractor who requires a Civil Construction Engineer for a 5-year project in Torness, East Lothian.

This is a 5-year project with an initial 2-year contract. March start date. Outside IR35 between £450 and £550 per day.

The Civil Construction Engineer will be responsible for coordinating Civil Engineering activities across the Eastern Green Link 1 project. This is a 5-year Converter Station build.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise within their discipline and inspire project teams to perform, innovate and deliver sustainable design solutions.
• Coordinate design interfaces between the Principal Contractor and design partners through concept and detailed design packages.
• Ensure engineering assurance is undertaken in accordance with the EMP and client requirements.
• Identification and control of engineering design change.
• Preparing scope, schedule, and other technical documents for RFP processes.
• Chair and/or attend relevant governance, technical and progress meetings with client and project stakeholders.
• Ensure the responsibilities under CDM 2015 for Principal Designer are discharged in accordance with the regulations.
• Undertake design reviews of vendor deliverables to check for compliance with requirements, constructability, safety, and temporary works requirements.
• Coordinate technical scope with Engineering, Construction and Procurement functions.

Experience needed:

• Experience on UK substation projects.
• Come from a Civil Engineering background.
