A highly motivated and detail-oriented Clearing Services Analyst to join our growing team, focusing on clearing services, position management and risk operations activities for LME Clear. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our clearing activities, particularly within the dynamic LME market. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to all facets of clearing and risk operations within a CCP environment, with significant growth potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clearing Services
- Position management
- Managing the settlement process of trades, including contract expiry and settlement, option exercise and assignment
- Managing the physical delivery process
- Static data maintenance including Member, Contract and calendar management
- Risk Operations
- Development of understanding of core market risk methodologies including margin calculations - initial margin and additional margin, and stress testing and Default Fund calculations.
- Process intraday margin calls through until settlement.
- Development of understanding of pricing methodologies, LME pricing and interaction with operation events like expiry.
- Dealing with member queries
- Default Management:
- Support the default management process by executing clearing-related activities in the event of a member default.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the timely and efficient resolution of default events.
- Operations change:
- Support the development and implementation of control frameworks to mitigate operational and financial risks.
- Support the automation of clearing and risk operations processes through the use of technology and data analytics tools.
- Support projects to enhance clearing and risk operations infrastructure and systems.
- Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external counterparties (e.g., clearing members, custodians, banks).
- Effectively communicate with stakeholders regarding operational issues and inquiries.
